Grinding off your mini flywheel
It's not the first method I would chose to remove on, but I had little option with this one.
I must have changed at least a couple of dozen mini clutches, all pre-verto, and at least three metro verto clutched I can recall. I have always managed to get them off. I'd changed all the external gaskets and seals on the motor as there was evidence of past leaks (err, yeah...it's a mini!) and sods law dictated that when I looked in the clutch housing I found oil everywhere. Guess I need to do the clutch oil seal.
First I bought a sykes pickevant puller...universally used on minis in my experience. But it wouldn't budge.
Then I tried heating the coller up until it was red, still no movement, so I left the puller on over night...next day....its still the same. So then I heat up the coller, torque the puller a bit further then beat the starter motor side with a hammer...tap the head of the puller, everythings straight, everythings in line...then one last nip of the puller ....and I snap the head of the puller main screw. Bollocks. I welded the head back on and stripped it back again.

DaveRob off the mini forum offered to help with a hydraulic puller he had. Unfortunately that couldn't budge it either. We even blew the seal on the hydraulic puller. The easiest and cheapest option was now to cut the collar off with a grinder.

put the puller back on and it came off

The crank is fine. Not even a scratch. It was just very tight, so in theory should have pulled....theory....
In total it took an hour, and one grinding (not cutting) disk on your bog standard 4" grinder. I did it outside, and please use eye & ear protection.
