Rear Sub Frame.
This looked wrecked when I removed it, it looks worse in the photo for some reason.. It had been wayoyled at some point. The result being some of it was in very good condition with paint intact while two holes were rotted in the areas not covered in wax. I decided to salvage it. If welded correctly there is no reason it shouldn't last several more years. It was stripped with a wire brush and scraper. Any defect was sorted and a couple of coats coat of Por15 were added.

The components were stripped, The N/S radius arm is completely shot....as are the shocks.

I was pleasantly surprised to see the brakes, pistons, pipes and bearings were all brand new....as in NEVER RUN!! This was obviously done by the garage who started the restoration then got bored with it, I just cleaned and greased them up then re-fitted them. A radius arm was sourced and re-bushed , new flexi's were fitted as was a new handbrake cable, quatrant pins and a selection of nuts & bolts were added and it was ready to refit with new standard shocks.

The subframe isn't rusty in these pic's, its just dusty of the work I did on the boot floor, it was lying on the floor beside the car.

...and yes...thats a hole in the N/S rear quadrant I need to fix.... The car seems to be sitting level, new trumpet cups were fitted (the little plastic cup that the knuckle fits into) but I'll wait intil I get the same size wheels on the car before I mess on with ride height.
