The Lamb Chop
Lets get some things straight, I'm not into the scooter scene, I don't have a bomber jacket, I hate mirrors on everything, and northern soul is crap. I just like scooters. One evening whilst on a forum about scooters some guy in Scarborough tips me off about his mate selling a "lambretta project worth a look". 30-minutes later after a phone call and some cash was discussed I'd bought it. The next week I drive a 160 mile round trip after 12-hours at work for this...
I was a little bemused to say the least. Anyway, not one to run away from a challenge, I strip it all down (errr...not much to strip) then set about rebuilding the motor. I *think it was a 150cc with a 175cc top end, and it was amazingly in pretty good condition. The frame, lack of body work, and coffin fuel tank with a naked woman on it just had to go though. A bit of forum searching later and I found a modified body/ frame locally. I came home with .........
A few weeks of building it up after work and it was finished. One ride on it and I knew it was for sale, it was best described as doing 55mph on a bar stool with a wobbly leg. Some guys from Blackpool bought it for about £800 I think. It only stood me about £200 or so. An experience.
