PAST HISTORY
Although I question my sanity at times, the reason I was insistent upon an "unmolested" Defender is that I would rather fix it myself than repair some body else's mess.....my mess is ok.... The motor came with a reasonable history file and the main points are noted below.
Stamped service record up to 100,000 miles, receipts for others.
Last 7 year MOT's
Timing belt changes at 114,000 miles.
Full brake overhaul at 114,000 miles (£192)
New shocks in 2001 (£70)

A few more receipts exist, but mostly for the odd flap etc..
The motor was originally from Cowies of Perth in Scotland, then moved to the midlands in 2002 then went to the South Coast where I bought it in 2005 and drove it back to Newcastle upon Tyne area. The chap before me had it for 11 months and paid £6625 for it. I paid £4800 for it.
