SANKEY WIDETRACK TRAILER
"A what??????????" the phone crackled
"An army trailer... I'll be really useful for camping"
"Oh, is it big?"
"errrr,..... yeah, its ok....... I'll see you when I get home with it"
And so I drove the 100mile home with the rather larger than expected trailer I had just bought. The guy on the phone said it was "a small 3/4 tonne one". I thought he meant the one with the wheels that stick out the side, not the one with the wheels underneath it... a widetrack...Anyway, I'd driven 100 mile for it and the price was ok, so I hitched it up and drove home. I think my wife thought it would be smaller.....

Its scabby on the sides, but the tubs sound, but tatty

Hitch, legs, drop tail and 24v is all good
Underneath is sound. The plan is to use it for camping etc (there are a lot of us and we have a lot of gear!). But I may replace the two sides with new steel and spray it the same colour as the Landy......although I am tempted with some arctic type camo type patterns......Haven't told my wife that bit yet.....
Ps. Typical sods law, I got home and looked on ebay and there's a guy 20 mile away from me selling one!!!!
UPDATE APRIL 2006
Planning a trip to Cornwall/Devon camping, so I thought I'd rebuild the sankey brakes as they bind on. A simple strip down and rebuild found they were all in good condition, they had just been rather enthusiastically adjusted in the past.
