VENT SEALS
After chasing drafts around the Landy for months and moaning about the heater not working I discover two things.
1. The heater is cold as the thermostat is jammed open so the motors running cold.
2. The bulkhead vent seal have about a half inch gap all around them so it's no surprise I get a cold groin whilst driving the Landy.
Changing the seals is a doddle. Buy original ones from the Dealer, they are about £7 each. To fit them, open the vent fully, remove the two long split pins at the hinge, get a long extension bar and an 8mm socket and remove the nut & bolt from the side that connect the vent to the arm (I sat on the bonnet to do this). When the panel is free scrape off the old seal (see it below) and when you get this all clean you can sick on the new one (self adhesive). Reassembly is the reverse of removal....as Haynes book of fibs always says....
